Welcome to MABAS Division 11
MABAS DIVISION 11
Welcome to MABAS Division 11's web site. The
Mutual Aid Box Alarm System group is made by dividing fire
department resources throughout the State of Illinois into
Divisions. Each of these Divisions handles calls which
could not be taken care of by one Department alone. There
are specialty Teams such as TRT, HazMat, Water Rescue, and
equipment such as lighting, Squads, etc. that are pooled among
each Division. When a disaster strikes, MABAS is mobilized
to handle that incident in an organized manor. When
Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, LA, Illinois sent the
largest contingent of crews and equipment of any other state in
the Nation. Our model of MABAS has been duplicated across
the country due to the organizational strength in which it
